Anonymous Whale Takes Out Massive Loan to Buy 87,680 Ethereum

A recent transaction has highlighted the risks associated with leveraged positions in decentralized finance (DeFi). A large cryptocurrency whale borrowed 142 million USDT from Aave over a 30-hour period, using the funds to purchase 87,680 ETH. The whale's health factor, which is used by Aave to gauge the safety of the loan, has dropped to 1.16.

The whale withdrew the USDT from Aave in multiple transactions and converted it into ETH, likely through decentralized exchanges or over-the-counter trades. The purchase price averaged around $1,619 per ETH based on the total value and volume.
