Ethereum's Vitalik Buterin has introduced a concept for using artificial intelligence (AI) agents to facilitate voting in decentralized autonomous organizations (DAOs). This proposal seeks to address the limitations imposed by human attention on DAO effectiveness.
The proposed system involves each participant running a personal AI agent that learns their stated preferences and policy rules. The agent would then assist with evaluating proposals and drafting votes, thereby reducing cognitive load and preserving individualized intent.
According to Buterin's concept, users could configure thresholds for when the agent merely recommends, requests confirmation, or executes a vote under predefined conditions. Cryptographic safeguards are also envisioned to maintain user participation privacy while ensuring verifiability on-chain.
