DeFi Payouts Reach New Heights as Three Apps Pay Out $96M to Holders
Recent data has shown that three young DeFi applications have collectively paid out a significant amount to their token holders within a short period of time.
Hyperliquid, Pump.fun, and edgeX made these payouts between $50.95 million and $23.26 million respectively over the past 30 days in 2026.
The most notable payout was from Hyperliquid, which reached an impressive $50.95 million, funded entirely by trading fees. This revenue model is considered sustainable as it scales with the application's revenue.
Pump.fun also made a significant payout of $22.09 million from its revenue of $38.81 million, and has recently shifted to a 50/50 revenue split for buybacks and operations due to growing user activity.
edgeX paid out $23.26 million despite only having $8.26 million in revenue, which raises questions about the long-term sustainability of this model as it may rely on reserves or incentives rather than real revenue.
