Solana Foundation and Google Cloud Launch Pay.sh for Autonomous AI Payments
The emergence of artificial intelligence has led to a growing need for infrastructure that can support the financial transactions of AI agents. To address this challenge, the Solana Foundation and Google Cloud have launched Pay.sh, a payment gateway designed to enable AI agents to access and pay for APIs using stablecoins.
Pay.sh introduces a new model for autonomous payments, allowing AI agents to make per-request payments using blockchain-based payment protocols. This approach removes the need for traditional onboarding steps such as account creation, identity verification, and billing setup.
The launch of Pay.sh reflects a broader shift towards machine-to-machine commerce, where financial transactions are conducted independently between machines. The system's adoption will be crucial in determining its success, as it enters a competitive market with other payment infrastructure specifically designed for AI agents.
