Wood Reiterates Bitcoin's Superiority Over Gold as Store of Value

Cathie Wood, the prominent investor and founder of Ark Invest, has reaffirmed her conviction in Bitcoin as a superior store of value compared to gold.

In an interview with Bloomberg, Wood highlighted the structural advantages of Bitcoin over gold, citing its digital nature and growing adoption among institutional and retail investors.

According to Wood, gold's demand profile is mature and consolidated, whereas Bitcoin is still in its early stages of growth. She also noted that younger investors are increasingly prioritizing digital assets over physical gold, representing a generational shift in store-of-value preferences.

Notably, both Bitcoin and gold can act as hedges during deflationary cycles, but Wood believes Bitcoin has shown relatively stronger performance under those conditions.

Despite her optimism, the market reality tells a different story. Bitcoin is currently trading around $63,200, having accumulated a 27.7% decline since the start of the year. In contrast, gold has posted a 19% gain over the same period.

Ark Invest has strengthened its exposure to the crypto ecosystem by purchasing shares in sector-related companies. The firm acquired shares of Bitmine, Bullish, and Robinhood, among others, with a total value of nearly $19 million.
