Bitcoin Perpetual Futures Market Reaches Near-Neutral Positioning
The Bitcoin perpetual futures market has reached a state of near-neutrality, according to recent data from Binance, OKX, and Bybit. The three exchanges, which account for the largest volume in crypto futures trading, show an aggregate long/short ratio of 50.71% to 49.29%. This indicates that leveraged traders have not placed outsized bets on either side of the market.
Among the exchanges, OKX shows the highest proportion of long positions at 51.48%, while Bybit follows closely with 51.06% long. Binance, the largest crypto futures exchange by volume, reports a more balanced split of 50.3% long and 49.7% short.
The current market positioning suggests that traders are in wait-and-see mode following recent price consolidation. However, it's worth noting that a 50/50 split can still produce sharp liquidations if price moves decisively in one direction.
