Bank of America Discloses Multi-Million Dollar Investment in Cryptocurrency ETFs
Bank of America has made public its holdings in cryptocurrency exchange-traded funds (ETFs), reflecting a significant investment in the digital asset market. The bank's filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) shows that it currently holds nearly $53.1 million worth of cryptocurrency ETFs and crypto-related stock positions.
Among these holdings, Bank of America's largest single crypto ETF holding is approximately 972,600 shares of the BNY Mellon Spot Bitcoin ETF IBIT, valued at around $37 million. The bank also holds smaller amounts in other ETFs, including Bitwise BITB, Grayscale Bitcoin Mini ETF, and Fidelity FBTC.
Additionally, Bank of America's holdings extend to Ethereum-related ETFs, with around $1.06 million invested in the BNY Mellon ETHA ETF. Furthermore, the bank holds stock in crypto-related public companies such as Galaxy Digital, Robinhood, Circle, and SoFi.
This disclosure comes as part of a broader trend where traditional financial institutions are increasing their indirect exposure to the digital asset market through ETFs and stocks.
