Trump's Approval Rating Sinks Amid Allegations of Self-Dealing
A new poll has found that 60% of Americans believe President Donald Trump is using his office for personal gain.
The Economist/YouGov survey, conducted July 3-6 among 1,603 U.S. adults, reveals a stark partisan divide on the issue: 94% of Democrats and 69% of independents agree that Trump is using his presidency for personal benefit, while just 16% of Republicans hold this view.
The poll's findings come as Trump faces growing scrutiny over his financial interests, including a recent disclosure showing he earned more than $1.4 billion from cryptocurrency-related ventures in 2025. This includes nearly $800 million from World Liberty Financial, a company co-founded by Trump's sons, and roughly $635 million from sales of the TRUMP meme coin.
Trump has defended his earnings, arguing that ordinary Americans are also benefiting from these investments.
