Ripple Secures Preliminary Luxembourg CASP Approval

Ripple has secured preliminary approval for a Crypto-Asset Service Provider license in Luxembourg from the Commission de Surveillance du Secteur Financier, the CSSF. This is another regulatory step towards scaling crypto and payments services across the European Economic Area.

The CSSF's CASP framework covers various services such as custody, crypto transfers, exchange between crypto-assets and funds, order execution, reception and transmission of orders, and crypto-asset advice.

Luxembourg becomes Ripple's EU base, giving the company a stronger regulatory base for institutional clients using blockchain payment infrastructure, stablecoins, crypto liquidity, and cross-border settlement tools. This is part of Ripple's expansion through payments licenses, stablecoin infrastructure, custody, institutional liquidity, and strategic investments.
