FBI Director's Strategy Stake Down 44% Amid Crypto Market Downturn
FBI Director Kash Patel has seen his investment in Strategy collapse since buying between $100,000 and $250,000 worth of stock on November 21.
The Michael Saylor-founded company, a prominent crypto treasury firm, has stockpiled over 847,000 BTC, worth more than $52 billion at current prices.
Patel didn't disclose the investment initially. He amended a required disclosure form in late May to include the Strategy buy, which he claimed were 'inadvertently omitted,' according to government filings obtained by NOTUS.
The stock has lost Patel anywhere between $44,000 and $110,000 since then, as it plummeted from $181 to $100.55. Strategy's crypto-stashing model has hemorrhaged value amidst the monthslong downturn in the crypto market.
