ZetaChain Freezes Cross-Chain Transactions After Smart Contract Attack
ZetaChain, a Layer 1 network focused on interoperability, has taken measures to secure its mainnet after an attack on one of its smart contracts.
The GatewayEVM contract, which serves as a unified entry point for cross-chain interactions between external EVM-compatible chains and applications on ZetaChain, was targeted in the incident.
According to the team's official statement, the attack only impacted internal ZetaChain team wallets, with no user funds affected. However, an investigation is ongoing to determine the full extent of the breach.
