Solana DeFi Company Drift Protocol Hit by Massive Hack

Drift Protocol, a prominent player in the Solana DeFi ecosystem, has halted deposits and withdrawals due to an ongoing attack that may have resulted in significant losses for users. According to estimates from security firms CertiK and Arkham, the breach could range from $136 million to $285 million, making it potentially the largest crypto theft of 2026.

The incident occurred on April 1st, when Drift Protocol disclosed the situation in a post on X, stating that they were 'experiencing an active attack' and suspending deposits and withdrawals. The company emphasized that they were working with security firms, bridges, and exchanges to contain the breach.
