Cryptocurrency Market Sees Significant Declines for Bitcoin and Ether
The cryptocurrency market continues to experience volatility, with Bitcoin and Ether facing significant declines in recent weeks.
Bitcoin, the world's first cryptocurrency, has struggled for a fourth consecutive week, plummeting to its lowest level since October 2024. This marks a year-to-date decline of approximately 30% and a drop of around 51% from its record high in October 2025.
Ether, a cryptocurrency run on the Ethereum blockchain platform, also experienced a significant decline this week, dropping over 20% to reach its lowest level since April 2025. This marks a year-to-date decline of approximately 45% and a drop of around 66% from its record close in August 2025.
An index has been created to chart the performance of Bitcoin, Ether, and XRP together. The index uses a logarithmic scale to illustrate the relative percentage changes and long-term growth of these cryptocurrencies.
