Bitcoin Soars Past $78k Amid Iran Ceasefire Extension and Institutional Demand
Bitcoin prices reached new heights on Wednesday, surpassing $78k for the first time since early February. The increase was driven by renewed institutional demand and the extension of the Iran ceasefire announced by President Donald Trump.
The world's largest cryptocurrency traded at its highest level of the day at $79,446.3 before settling back to $78,586.2. This marked a third consecutive day of gains for Bitcoin, with analysts suggesting that it is increasingly behaving as a hybrid asset.
According to David Morrison, senior market analyst at Trade Nation, 'Bitcoin is drawing inflows during periods of easing tensions and as a hedge during geopolitical uncertainty.' He also noted that the daily MACD suggests moderate upside momentum, with $80,000 being the next significant resistance level.
