Tokenized Assets Boom to $32 Billion as DeFi Growth Accelerates
The market for tokenized real-world assets (RWAs) has surged to $32.22 billion by June 2026, nearly tripling in value from $11.8 billion a year earlier.
This growth is driven by regulatory momentum, institutional demand for yield-generating on-chain instruments, and a DeFi ecosystem mature enough to absorb traditional financial products.
US Treasuries are the largest tokenized asset category, with $15 billion in on-chain value. BlackRock's BUIDL fund has surpassed $2.9 billion in total asset value by June 2025, operating across eight blockchains.
Private credit and stocks are also emerging as key categories, with tokenized private credit standing at approximately $6.2 billion and tokenized equities growing by nearly 50% in the past thirty days.
