Binance Donates $250K to Combat Ebola Outbreaks in Uganda and DRC
Crypto exchange Binance has pledged $250,000 to support efforts to combat the Ebola outbreak in Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo. The funds will be split equally between the Uganda Red Cross Society and Doctors Without Borders (MSF), with each receiving $125,000.
The organization emphasized that the donation is part of its long-term focus on Africa, aiming to support community resilience through practical means. Binance noted that businesses in the region have a responsibility beyond economic participation, particularly during times of crisis.
The exchange highlighted the urgent need for emergency medical care and treatment, as well as infection prevention and control measures. The funds will also cover protective equipment for health workers and community awareness campaigns, focusing on high-risk areas with limited access to healthcare infrastructure.
