DeFi Protocols Unite Against $293 Million Exploit

The cryptocurrency community has come together in response to the recent exploit of Kelp's restaking platform, which resulted in a $293 million loss. Decentralized finance (DeFi) protocols have pledged over 43,500 Ether, worth more than $101 million, to support the 'DeFi United' relief effort.

Aave has taken the lead in organizing this effort, calling it a demonstration of ecosystem collaboration and a commitment to achieving the strongest possible outcome for users. Several prominent DeFi protocols have made significant contributions, including the EtherFi Foundation and Mantle, which have pledged 5,000 and 30,000 Ether respectively.

The efforts are focused on addressing bad debt and recovering stolen tokens. A proposal has been submitted to lend up to 30,000 Ether to Aave DAO in return for yield, while Lido DAO has offered a one-time contribution of up to 2,500 Lido Staked Ether. Other protocols, such as LayerZero and the Golem Foundation, have also pledged undisclosed amounts.
