TeraWulf Unveils Ambitious Data Center Plans in Kentucky
TeraWulf has made a significant move into the world of hyperscale data centers with the acquisition of the Muskie Data Campus in Kentucky.
The site, which spans 285 acres, is located within EastPark Industrial Park and will be developed to accommodate over 1 GW of capacity. The facility's power infrastructure is substantial, with a dedicated 345 kV substation being built by Kentucky Power, a subsidiary of American Electric Power.
This acquisition marks the latest development in TeraWulf's strategic shift towards high-performance computing and AI infrastructure. The company has been actively expanding its presence in the region, having acquired another site in February 2026. With this new facility, TeraWulf is now poised to deliver over 1.5 GW of capacity.
The phased development approach for the Muskie Data Campus is expected to limit near-term capital risk, with the first 500 MW not due until the second half of 2028. The company's dual focus on Bitcoin mining and AI infrastructure provides investors with exposure to both cryptocurrency price movements and emerging demand for high-performance computing services.
