Brazilian Law Targets Crime with Cryptocurrency Asset Freeze

Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva has signed a major new law aimed at combating organized crime. The legislation enables judges to take control of digital assets such as Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies associated with serious offenses.

Under the new law, courts will also have the authority to approve the sale of seized cryptocurrencies before their regular liquidation process is completed if deemed necessary. This move is expected to enhance the country's efforts in fighting crime and improving public security.
