A new Solana-based meme coin has captured the attention of Indian crypto traders, tied to a viral social movement that began as a response to a Supreme Court judge's comments about unemployment.
The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) meme coin was launched on Pump.fun, a platform for creating tokens without coding skills. In just 24 hours, it saw a 300% surge in value, with over $474,000 in trading volume.
This increase is largely attributed to retail speculation and the cultural momentum behind the movement. The token's price has been affected by its market capitalization and liquidity, which are currently relatively low.
The CJP movement began after a Supreme Court judge compared unemployed youth to cockroaches, sparking widespread outrage on social media. A digital strategist, Abhijeet Dipke, launched a Google Form inviting people to join the 'Cockroach Janta Party,' which quickly gained traction and attracted attention from politicians.
The CJP token's success is partly due to Solana's low fees and fast settlement times, making it an attractive platform for meme coin trading. However, its extreme volatility means that investors should exercise caution and be aware of the risks involved.
