OpenClaw Discard Server Imposes Strict Ban on Cryptocurrency Discussions

The rapid growth of OpenClaw, an open-source AI agent framework, has been accompanied by a stricter moderation policy on its official Discord server. According to the project's creator, Peter Steinberger, any mention of 'bitcoin' or other cryptocurrency terms can lead to an immediate ban.

The ban was implemented in response to a security breach that occurred during a rebranding process. A fake Solana token called $CLAWD was created and briefly gained significant market capitalization before crashing. The incident led to financial losses for some users, who wrongly blamed Steinberger for the token's existence.

Steinberger has maintained that the ban is in place to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future. He has also offered to manually reinstate users who are banned for discussing cryptocurrencies, provided they can verify their account details.
