YouTube's recent decision to remove multiple cryptocurrency-related channels from its platform has sparked widespread concern within the crypto community.
The removals, which occurred without prior warning or explanation, have left creators and investors alike scratching their heads as they try to understand the reasoning behind this move.
In one of the most high-profile cases, Bitcoin.com's YouTube channel was removed in April 2026, citing 'harmful and dangerous' content. The channel had been active since 2015 and boasted over 100,000 subscribers, making it a significant loss for the company.
The removal has caused commercial harm to Bitcoin.com, with embedded videos on its website and app now displaying errors, which may lead to decreased trust among users of its digital assets and wallet services.
Other affected channels include BTCsessions, which was removed three times between 2019 and 2025, and Bitcoin Magazine, which was expelled in April 2026 for 'low-quality and repetitive content' - a charge it had previously faced four years ago.
