Ripple Expands Presence in Africa Amid Record On-Chain Growth
Ripple, a San Francisco-based blockchain firm, is intensifying its efforts to promote crypto adoption across the African continent. Recent data indicates that Africa has experienced a significant surge in on-chain activity, with a 52% year-over-year increase.
The growth of digital assets in Africa can be attributed to several factors, including regulatory frameworks that are conducive to innovation. Countries such as South Africa, Nigeria, Kenya, and Mauritius have established comprehensive crypto policies, which are designed to regulate service providers, enhance anti-money laundering standards, and protect consumers while supporting blockchain-based infrastructure.
Ripple is capitalizing on this trend by expanding its presence in key African markets. The firm has formed partnerships with fintech platforms, including Chipper Cash, VALR, and Yellow Card, to improve institutional access to cryptocurrencies and blockchain-based payment systems. Additionally, Ripple is working with Mercy Corps Ventures to develop initiatives that utilize blockchain technology to enhance the speed and transparency of aid delivery in Kenya.
