Starcloud Secures $170 Million in Series A Funding at $1.1 Billion Valuation
Starcloud, a space computing startup, has made significant strides in the industry with its latest funding round. The company has secured $170 million in Series A funding, positioning it for leadership in space-based technology.
The investment brings Starcloud's total funding to $200 million and values the company at $1.1 billion. The funds will be used to launch Starcloud 2 later this year, which features multiple GPUs from Nvidia Blackwell chips and AWS server blades, as well as a Bitcoin mining machine.
This satellite marks a significant milestone for Starcloud, making it the first space-based Bitcoin mining satellite in operation. According to CEO Philip Johnston, space mining is the future of cryptocurrency processing, offering unparalleled scalability and efficiency.
