The Open Network's native cryptocurrency has undergone a rebranding effort, changing its name from Toncoin (TON) to Gram (GRAM). This change was approved by a community governance vote in June 2026, with approximately 81% of participating voting power supporting the new name. The rebrand is limited to the token identity level and does not affect the underlying blockchain or any user balances.

The practical impact on holders is minimal, as no action is required for the conversion from TON to GRAM. The change only affects the ticker symbol and token name, which will update automatically across exchanges, wallets, and data platforms. Binance has confirmed that it will handle all technical requirements, converting existing TON tokens to GRAM at a 1:1 ratio.

Exchanges and wallets are updating their interfaces to reflect the new name, but users' wallet addresses and staking positions remain unchanged. The rebrand is intended to give the token a simpler and more recognizable identity as the ecosystem continues to expand around Telegram-native use cases.
