Aave Founder Stani Kulechov on Spokes Key to Liquidity Expansion

Aave founder Stani Kulechov has outlined the key role that 'spokes' in the decentralized finance lending protocol's V4 architecture will play in expanding liquidity and monetization.

Kulechov explained that Aave V4 spokes are essential for the protocol, enabling it to work with outside specialist teams to extend liquidity into various sectors. This structure allows Aave to collaborate with teams having expertise in automated market makers, perpetual futures, fixed-rate lending, and crypto-asset or securities custody.

The spoke system is designed to provide a direct extension of Aave's liquidity and distribution network to partner teams, while also offering Aave access to speed, expertise, and new monetization opportunities. Aave DAO will earn revenue through fee sharing, which Kulechov sees as an advantage in scale, speed, and monetization.

Kulechov emphasized that the pace of change in DeFi makes it challenging for Aave to build every feature itself, stating 'DeFi moves incredibly fast, and even if we want to, building everything ourselves takes a lot of time.'
