Pepperstone Launches Proprietary Cryptocurrency Exchange in Australia
Australian-based trading platform Pepperstone has taken a significant step in the cryptocurrency market with the launch of its proprietary exchange. The new spot cryptocurrency exchange, dubbed 'Pepperstone Crypto Spot Exchange', aims to provide transparent pricing by publishing commissions and spreads upfront. This move is expected to expose the true cost of crypto trading and potentially trigger a market-wide price reset.
According to Pepperstone's analysis, the Australian market is characterized by opaque pricing and limited fee competition, resulting in total trading costs that are significantly higher than advertised fees. The new exchange will operate on a flat 0.1 percent commission model for spot trades, providing investors with clear visibility into their total execution costs.
The launch of Pepperstone Crypto Spot Exchange marks a significant development in the Australian cryptocurrency market, which has seen rapid growth and adoption in recent years. With over 400 registered digital currency providers and 1,200 crypto ATMs, Australia has one of the highest participation rates among developed markets.
