Pi Network Urges Node Operators to Upgrade to Protocol v25
Pi Network has announced an urgent protocol update for its Mainnet node operators. The update, which is available now, is designated as Protocol v25 and is required to ensure that nodes remain connected to the network.
The Pi Core Team stated that most Mainnet node runners have already successfully upgraded to the new version of the protocol, but those who haven't should do so at their earliest convenience to avoid temporary loss of connection. The team emphasized that the upgrade process is easy and only takes a couple of minutes.
Pi Network nodes operate differently than traditional blockchain mining networks, using a consensus protocol based on the Stellar Consensus Protocol. They group themselves into clusters called quorum slices, which enable the network to reach consensus about transactions through an extended trust model.
