XRP Funding Rates Turn Negative on Binance: Corrective Rally Ahead?
The XRP funding rates on Binance have entered an extreme negativity phase, signaling a possible correction in the asset's price action. According to data from CryptoQuant analyst Darkfost, XRP funding rates turned negative while the token traded between $1.35 and $1.50. This historical configuration has often preceded short-term rebounds or corrective rallies.
Derivatives traders have been predominantly positioned on the short side despite XRP's 60% correction from its July 2025 all-time high of $3.65. The analyst emphasizes that this bearish positioning may have become overcrowded relative to actual price action, acting as a contrarian indicator.
Exchange outflow data also shows significant withdrawals of approximately 7.03 billion XRP in February, with Binance leading the volume at 3.38 billion XRP. This indicates a shift in assets from trading environments to private wallets or long-term storage, potentially reducing liquidity on trading platforms.
