Crypto-Backed PAC Spending Fuels Alabama Senate Runoff Victory
Crypto-aligned spending helped propel Barry Moore to victory in Alabama's Republican US Senate runoff. On June 17, 2026, Moore secured 55.8% of the vote, giving him an opportunity to replace outgoing Senator Tommy Tuberville.
More than $12 million from a crypto company-backed PAC, Defend American Jobs, went towards media buys and ads in support of Moore's candidacy. The PAC is affiliated with Fairshake, which spent its 'biggest spend of the cycle' on this election.
Fairshake spokesperson Geoff Vetter stated that their efforts yielded 'yet another pro-innovation champion in the Senate'. Stand With Crypto, a Coinbase-affiliated organization, has rated Moore as 'strongly supports crypto', based on his voting record and public statements.
