Ripple's David Schwartz Addresses XRP Ledger Security Concerns

Ripple's Chief Technology Officer (CTO) David Schwartz has weighed in on concerns about Russia potentially gaining control over the XRP Ledger. The discussion was sparked by a recent law passed in Russia, which allows for the use of cryptocurrencies in international payments and includes an official XRP index on the Moscow Exchange.

Schwartz acknowledged that a powerful country like Russia could cause temporary disruptions to the network, but expressed skepticism about any long-term damage or takeover. He noted that the network can quickly replace bad validators, make them anonymous using tools like Tor, and even upgrade its consensus rules if needed.
