Coinbase Base App Revamp Aims to Win Back Crypto-Native Users

Coinbase has relaunched its Base App as an 'everything app' for on-chain activity, aiming to win back crypto-native users and rebuild trust. The revamped platform combines trading, earning, social features, and discovery tools into a single self-custody interface.

The Base App is built on Coinbase's Layer 2 network that runs on Ethereum using the OP Stack. Users holding USDC in their self-custody wallets within the app can earn up to 3.35% APY in rewards with no lockups, and remain liquid and accessible.

Coinbase One subscribers get free gas fees and up to $10 per month in gas sponsorships for on-chain transactions. The relaunch comes directly from feedback collected from on-chain participants, with user input prioritized in driving product development.
