BitGo Opens Up Institutional DeFi Access with Narval Gateway Partnership

BitGo has expanded its institutional crypto wallet services to include access to decentralized finance (DeFi) protocols. Eligible clients can now use Narval's gateway to connect with Aave, Spark, and Tesseract through their BitGo custody wallets.

This move allows institutions to participate in DeFi lending without having to remove assets from qualified custody. As CEO Mike Belshe explained, 'Institutions want access to DeFi, but they need a path that meets their security, governance, and operational requirements.'

The Narval gateway uses delegated wallet connectivity, transaction verification, and an embedded dApp software kit to ensure secure interactions between BitGo's infrastructure and decentralized finance applications.

Before submitting requests for signing or custody approval, transactions must undergo verification by Narval's engine, which cross-checks with pre-approved contract addresses. This process also provides a human-readable version of transaction details, aiming to mitigate risks associated with blind signing.
