BTC Price Strengthens Above 200-Week Moving Average, $70,000 Retest Possible
The Bitcoin price has been showing signs of strength, with analysts predicting a possible retest of $70,000. One key indicator is the 200-week moving average, which BTC has closed above for another week.
Crypto analyst Michaël van de Poppe said that this is a strong sign and if BTC continues to move higher, it could reach the $68,000 area, potentially leading to a strong period for altcoins. He also pushed back against calls for a drop to $40,000, saying that the current market conditions do not support such a sharp fall.
New on-chain data shows that long-term BTC holders are taking less profit, with the amount of profit taken dropping to around 32% from 350% in December 2024. This suggests that these investors are holding onto their coins rather than rushing to sell. Additionally, the Long-Term Holder and Short-Term Holder SOPR ratio has returned to a neutral level, which is seen as a positive sign.
The current price of BTC is around $65,000, with some analysts predicting that it could climb back to $68,000 and possibly test the $70,000 level. However, it's worth noting that there is no guarantee that this will happen, and Bitcoin has seen many pullbacks even during strong markets.
