Crypto Adoption Reaches New Heights as Regulations Strengthen Globally
Crypto adoption has reached unprecedented heights in 2025, marking a turning point in the industry's transition into mainstream finance.
The number of crypto owners has grown by 16% over the past year, bringing the global ownership rate to 8.7%, according to data presented by Ben Zhou, CEO of Bybit. This trend is reflected in traditional finance (TradFi) as well, with the number of TradFi firms onboarding crypto doubling in 2025.
Stablecoins have also become a dominant force, settling double the volume of major traditional payment networks over 12 months. The prevalence of stablecoins in unbanked regions is particularly notable, providing easy access to financial markets and bypassing geopolitical barriers.
