Citadel Securities Expands Asian Presence with Aggressive Hiring Spree
Citadel Securities, a leading market maker, has significantly expanded its presence in Asia-Pacific by hiring over 60 employees across the region. The firm's aggressive recruitment drive is part of its broader push into the region, which includes opening a new office in Singapore and expanding its operations in Hong Kong.
The concentration of hires in Hong Kong suggests that the city remains the preferred base for institutional trading operations in the region. This is consistent with the firm's previous efforts to establish itself as a major player in Asian digital asset markets.
Citadel Securities' move into Asia-Pacific comes as both Hong Kong and Singapore are competing to become the go-to jurisdiction for institutional digital asset activity. Both cities have rolled out new licensing regimes designed to attract firms like Citadel Securities, which has already made waves by entering crypto market-making alongside Virtu Financial.
