BlackRock's Cryptocurrency Custody Move Sends Market Signals
BlackRock's recent withdrawal of $264 million in Bitcoin and Ethereum from Coinbase has sparked significant attention in the cryptocurrency market. According to data from blockchain analytics firm Onchain Lens, the asset management titan moved approximately 2,700 Bitcoin (BTC) and 30,000 Ethereum (ETH) from exchange custody to private wallets.
The transaction, valued at roughly $264 million based on prevailing market prices, represents a clear strategic pivot towards long-term holding. This move is interpreted as bullish by analysts, who believe it reduces immediate selling pressure and indicates a preference for secure storage solutions over active trading.
