Ethereum Developers Reject Frame Transactions Proposal
Ethereum's Hegota upgrade, scheduled for the latter half of 2026, has been at the center of discussions among developers in recent weeks. One proposal that had gained significant attention was the addition of frame transactions, which would enable a more traditional web experience on blockchain-based applications and prepare the network for a post-quantum world.
However, after a last-minute pitch from Vitalik Buterin, Ethereum developers ultimately decided to deprioritize this proposal. This decision comes despite support from several developers, who argued that frame transactions would significantly improve user experience and make Ethereum more competitive in the market.
The proposal was met with resistance from client developers, who cited its complexity as a major concern. They suggested that it might be too complicated for what it delivers and could potentially delay the Hegota upgrade, which is already expected to bring significant changes to the network.
