China's Supreme Court Takes Aim at Clarifying Virtual Currency Law

China's top court is taking steps to clarify the legal framework for virtual currencies, cross-border finance, and artificial intelligence. The Supreme Court has announced plans to study new adjudication rules for these emerging areas of law, with a focus on establishing clearer internal judicial standards.

The move comes as the number of cryptocurrency-related litigation cases grows in China. To address this, the court aims to formulate judicial interpretations on civil compensation for insider trading and market manipulation, as well as judicial protection rules for disputes related to artificial intelligence and data rights.
