US Lawmakers Demand Investigation into Binance Over Iran-Linked Transactions

Washington DC - The US government has been urged by lawmakers to probe into claims that Binance, one of the world's largest cryptocurrency exchanges, is involved in illicit transactions with Iran-linked entities.

A group of 11 senators led by Senator Elizabeth Warren and Chris Van Hollen have written a letter to Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and Attorney General Pam Bondi, requesting a formal investigation into Binance's activities.

The lawmakers are concerned that the alleged transfers may pose a significant threat to national security, as they believe that Binance's internal controls are compromised.
