Bitget and WIW3CH Team Up to Boost Women's Presence in Web3
Bitget and WIW3CH are joining forces to address the lack of women in ownership, funding, and leadership roles within Web3. The two organizations are working together through Bitget's Blockchain4Her program, which aims to provide education and support to female founders. According to Gracy Chen, CEO of Bitget, only 6% of industry funding goes towards female-led projects.
In an interview with BeInCrypto, Chen stated that the figure is exactly why they built Blockchain4Her. The program has a $10 million fund dedicated to supporting female-led projects and ties diversity targets to their internal hiring and partnership standards.
The biggest barrier to entry for women in Web3, according to Chen, is not just capital, but also the lack of visible role models, mentors, and a supportive environment. She noted that 'when you don't see yourself reflected in the room, it's easy to doubt whether you belong.'
