Crypto Markets Cool, Bitcoin Slips Below $63,000
Crypto markets have taken a hit, with Bitcoin's price dipping below $63,000. The broader market and trading activity cooled, leading to a decline in prices across the board. Bitcoin fell 2.5% to $62,191, while the CoinDesk Market Index dropped 2.9%. Ethereum slipped 2.9% to $1,737, and other assets like Solana and Cardano also saw significant declines.
The weakness was broad, with smaller declines in XRP, BNB, and Dogecoin. What's striking is that trading activity faded alongside prices: bitcoin's 24-hour trading volume fell 14% to $27.9 billion, and total crypto trading volume slid 6.1% to $70.8 billion as the market's total value dipped 2.3% to $2.14 trillion.
