Sony Block Solutions Labs Unveils Soneium Ethereum Layer 2 Solution

Sony Block Solutions Labs has collaborated with Startale to introduce Soneium, an Ethereum Layer 2 solution built on the OP Stack.

As an Optimistic Rollup, Soneium inherits the security of Ethereum while providing a fast and EVM-equivalent environment. It boasts 2-second block times, making it suitable for mainstream on-chain experiences.

The platform utilizes $ETH as its gas token but allows developers to leverage account abstraction, enabling gasless experiences at the application layer.

Soneium has formed key partnerships with prominent Web3 infrastructure providers such as Astar Network, Alchemy, Chainlink, Circle, and The Graph. These collaborations will drive adoption and strengthen Soneium's ecosystem.

The introduction of the Soneium Score system allows users to earn on-chain badges by participating in various ecosystem activities. Meanwhile, Startale Points enable users to complete quests within the Startale app, creating a broader engagement loop.
