Bitmine Immersion Technologies Boosts Ethereum Holdings Amid Market Turbulence
Bitmine Immersion Technologies, a leading Ethereum treasury firm, has made significant strides in its investment strategy. In the week ending March 16, the company acquired an additional 65,341 Ethereum, bringing its total holdings to 4,660,903. This move demonstrates Bitmine's commitment to its long-term target of acquiring 5% of Ethereum's circulating supply.
Chairman Tom Lee has been a key proponent of Ethereum's value as a wartime store of value. He believes that the crypto market has outperformed equities since the start of global conflict, with Ethereum rising 18% over this period and outperforming equities by 2,450 basis points.
Lee predicts that markets tend to bottom early in major conflict events, citing eight historical examples. He notes that negative scenarios get priced in quickly, but that counterbalancing opportunities have consistently followed. This prediction is supported by the recent price movements of Ethereum, which has been trading around $2,180 and showing signs of recovery.
Bitmine's staking rewards are projected to be a significant contributor to its revenue, with an estimated annual value of around $272 million based on a 2.83% seven-day yield. The company has staked more Ethereum than any other entity in the world at this scale, further solidifying its position as a leader in the space.
