Morgan Stanley Expands Crypto ETF Plans with Staking Updates
Morgan Stanley has updated its filings for proposed Ethereum and Solana exchange-traded funds, outlining staking plans and trust structures.
The bank submitted revised S-1 filings to US regulators on May 20, which outlined operational procedures, creation and redemption procedures, and cash settlement mechanisms for shares. The revised documents also highlighted network risks associated with the Solana blockchain's architecture.
Morgan Stanley's proposed Ethereum Trust product will track Ethereum spot prices through direct holdings of ETH tokens, while the Solana Trust will track Solana prices through direct ownership of SOL tokens. The trust will seek additional returns through staking rewards linked to Ethereum and Solana network participation.
