Summer.fi Shuts Down After $6M Exploit Destroys Rebuild Fund
The DeFi platform Summer.fi has announced that it will wind down operations due to a $6.04 million exploit on its Lazy Summer Protocol on July 6.
The team stated that the attack wiped out the capital they needed to rebuild, rendering it impossible for them to continue operating.
Summer.fi emphasized that despite the shutdown, the Lazy Summer DAO is working to restore withdrawals and redemptions across all vaults, including those affected by the exploit.
The platform joins a growing list of protocols that have been unable to survive breaches, with Radiant Capital winding down in June after a $50 million exploit and Step Finance closing in February following a treasury hack.
