Iran's Bitcoin Hashtag Sees Record Decline Amid Ongoing Conflict
The global cryptocurrency market continues to evolve, with various regions experiencing changes in their respective hashrates. According to a new report from Hashrate Index, Iran's Bitcoin hashrate has dropped significantly over the past quarter due to ongoing conflict.
The country's hashrate has declined by 77% over the quarter, with approximately 7 exahashes per second (EH/s) lost. In contrast, neighboring countries such as the United Arab Emirates and Oman have remained unaffected.
Despite the regional conflict, the global hashrate remains stable at around 1,000 EH/s. This is attributed to a combination of factors, including a slump in Bitcoin prices and the retirement of legacy equipment.
