South Carolina Introduces Crypto-Friendly Legislation

South Carolina has taken a significant step towards embracing cryptocurrencies with the introduction of new legislation protecting the rights of cryptocurrency users.

The law, signed by Governor Henry McMaster, restricts anti-crypto acts and bans central bank digital currencies (CBDCs) within the state.

Under the new legislation, individuals and businesses carrying out crypto transactions will not face additional state taxation beyond what already applies to traditional U.S. legal tender transactions.
