Bhutan's $8.5M Bitcoin Transfer Sparks Speculation About Crypto Mining Exit
The Royal Government of Bhutan has made significant moves in its Bitcoin holdings, transferring a substantial $8.5M to a newly created address. This development raises questions about the country's strategy and potential future plans in the crypto mining sector.
According to market data, Bhutan has consistently liquidated its Bitcoin holdings, with transactions ranging from $5M to $10M. The overall cryptocurrency portfolio of Bhutan stands at $286.65M, reflecting a decline of 3.82%.
The selling pattern of Bhutan appears methodical, with frequent Bitcoin liquidations since January 2024. This has led to a decrease in its total holdings by nearly 1,700 Bitcoin units. The country's accumulation strategy seems to be shifting from passive holding to active portfolio rebalancing.
