Cryptocurrency Market Liquidations Reach New Heights
The cryptocurrency market has been experiencing significant volatility in recent times, leading to substantial liquidation events across various assets.
According to data, the past 24 hours saw approximately $195 million worth of crypto futures liquidations, with a notable increase in forced position closures. This high volume of liquidations highlights the intense pressure currently affecting leveraged traders worldwide.
The majority of these liquidations occurred on Bitcoin, accounting for over $83 million of the total. A significant proportion of short positions were closed due to a short squeeze, indicating a market move that caught bearish traders off guard and suggests differing sentiment between Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies like Ethereum and FARTCOIN.
